Digital Ecology: equipping ecologists with digital skills
Digital skills training
Digital technologies, be they hardware or software, are an increasing part of the modern ecologist’s toolkit. From how data are collected, to how they are stored, analysed and shared, skills in digital technology are increasingly in demand in the environmental sector.
Digital Ecology provide training in open source software for the analysis and presentation of ecological data. These open source tools lower the barrier to entry for ecologists and environmental scientists, providing powerful tools without a huge cost (indeed many are free).
Digital Ecology has provided training on QGIS and R for ecologists and environmental scientists. We have delivered training for the Field Studies Council, the Association of Local Environmental Records Centres, the Wildlife Trusts, consultancies, eNGOs and more.
Digital Ecology develop bespoke courses to cover your training needs, as well as providing introductory training for groups.
