BatReportR - analyse static bat detector data fast!
Recent updates to bat survey guidelines have resulted in increased use of static bat detectors to determine the range of bat species on sites. Consequently, ecologists are spending increasing amounts of time deploying detectors and then analysing their data.
Digital Ecology’s BatReportR app automates and streamlines this process by providing the analyses and summaries that underpin ecologists’ reports. For example, BatReportR allows users to upload data and generate summary tables and graphs which include: summaries by species, month or location; hourly and half-hourly summaries; activity plots; and activity indices. These outputs can then be downloaded and incorporated into ecological reports.
BatReportR is already compatible with outputs from the BTO Acoustic Pipeline and Kaleidoscope, and it has the in-built flexibility to accommodate call data from other software. If you need to process data from alternative software, all you need to do is provide Digital Ecology with a data sample and we can add that functionality to the app.
In short, BatReportR is an invaluable tool for analysing the ever-increasing volume of bat static data; it enables ecologists to spend less time manually processing data and more time designing mitigation schemes.
